Deals to Love

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and I’ve noticed that many of the local deal sites are already embracing the spirit, presenting a slew of offers that would make perfect gifts and help celebrate the day. There are so many out there, that I went through the lot of them and found a bunch that sounded extra special, for both significant others and the kids. Be sure to note that some of these end soon or have limited quantities available, so don’t wait too long if you hope to make your Valentine’s day.

LivingSocial has loads of offers to indulge all kinds of interest as well as events that would make a great date. Here’s a selection of ’em:

$29 for a Sippin’ & Paintin’ class at LivingSocial’s 918 F Street

$79 for Sushi + Sumo + Saki Experience at LivingSocial’s 918 F Street

$132 for a Hot Air Balloon Ride over the Shenandoah Valley from Valley Ballooning

You can find deals on spa packages all around the DC-Metro, but if you’re looking for some adventure in a V-Day gift, they’ve got that, too — skydiving or paragliding, anyone? Here’s a sample of the many deals they’ve got going:

$39 for a Swedish Massage at Skin Beauty Lounge on Capitol Hill

$99 for One-Hour Signature or Couples Massage at Avi Day Spa in Great Falls

$39 for One 60-Minute Swedish Massage at Caressence Therapeutic Massage in Greenbelt

$20 for $40 Worth of Wine, Cheese, and Charcuterie at Veritas Wine Bar near Adams Morgan

Introducing a New “Deals” Page

In case it’s not ridiculously apparent, I looove our local deal sites. As if having tons of great offerings for families right in our backyards isn’t enough, we can enjoy many of them at a discount thanks to the plethora of online companies offering all kinds of savings around the DC-Metro. And even more than helping us save a few bucks, these websites often serve as an introduction to new products, places, and experiences that help enrich our lives.

As you’re probably aware, I occasionally dedicate posts to listing deals I think might be of interest to readers. The thing is, there are always great offers available, I just don’t have the time to mention them all. So, I came up with a way to make it easy for you to scan them — by compiling links to local deal sites all on one KFDC page. Whether you’re looking for discounts that benefit your whole family, seeking a deal for a date night, or just want to treat yourself for less, there’s a good chance you’ll find it — and then some — among these websites offering savings on local…well, everything. (Plus a few offering travel deals for when you need an escape from the local.)

I’ll still post an occasional heads-up on can’t-miss deals, but you can bookmark this page to check during the interim.

Happy Savings!

The Juice on Two New Deals

Since Juice in the City launched in DC a couple of weeks ago, they consistently have been offering great deals on local goods and services for families. Today is no exception; in fact, they have TWO new deals that moms, especially, will appreciate.

The first involves a little pampering.  For just $12, you can get a manicure or brow wax at Toka Salon and Day Spa in Alexandria.  I keep hearing good things  about Toka’s newest location — Washingtonian Magazine recently ranked it among its 30 favorite spas — and this will be a great opportunity to see for myself. The deal is over tomorrow, so get in on it soon!

As for the second offer, I’ve got one word for you: shoes.  For $25, you can get $50 worth of designer shoes and accessories at Zelaya Shoes in Bethesda.  Go browse the store’s website to see their variety of brand name footwear for women, men, and kids. This deal is also over tomorrow, so if you want to get your kicks for less, don’t wait to get the offer.

Happy savings… and shopping!

A Winner & Some Juicy Deals

Juice in the City officially launched in Washington, DC, today with two fantastic deals. Time to get started on the savings! We also have a winner from the giveaway from a couple of days ago, who will receive $25 in JuiceBucks credit.

First, the deals:

– Pay just $10 for $20 at Groovy DC Cards & Gifts. If you haven’t been, Groovy is great little shop on Capitol Hill, just down the street from Eastern Market.  It’s one of my go-to spots for fun gifts and greeting cards.

– Pay $30 for a Class, Free Play, Open Gym, or Trampoline Room Usage at MarVa Tots ‘n Teens located in Rockville. I haven’t been here, but being a fan of free play and open gym sessions, this is a great opportunity to check it out.

And, finally, congratulations to KFDC reader, Janet, who won $25 in JuiceBucks credit to use toward Juice in the City deal purchases.

Happy savings, everyone!

Note: If you received a post about a discount code, my apologies, but that code is not applicable at this time.
