“Sleeping Beauty: The Time Traveler” at Adventure Theatre — Special Ticket Offer & Giveaway!

Adventure Theatre is putting a fun spin on a classic fairytale!

Sleeping Beauty: The Time Traveler is on stage now at the children’s theatre in Glen Echo Park, running through August 23. And you have a chance to win tickets to see it and attend a pay-what-you-can performance!

Rolly’s ordinary summer takes an extraordinary twist when he’s whisked back in time to the Age of Charlemagne! There, he meets Aurora, a bold 12-year-old princess with dreams of knighthood and adventure beyond her castle walls. But her overprotective royal parents have other plans—thanks to a mysterious curse that threatens to plunge her into a century-long sleep. As Rolly and Aurora plot a daring escape to the modern world, secrets are revealed, destinies collide, and the past and present merge in an epic journey filled with courage, friendship, and a dash of magic. Can they outsmart fate and find their happily ever after?

Performances take place Friday through Monday, and all 7pm shows (which occur on Fridays) are pay-what-you-can — that’s right, you name the price. It’s recommended to purchase tickets online in advance. Of course, you can aways try to win them through the giveaway below.

See Aesop’s Fables Come to Life at Adventure Theatre (+ Giveaway)!

The newest production at Adventure Theatre will bring some classics to the stage. From April 24 – May 24, Aesop’s Fables presents several “life lessons” stories we all know well in Adventure Theatre’s signature fun, charming style that audiences of all ages adore. Even more, you have a chance to win tickets to see it!

Aesop’s Fables is a vibrant, theatrical adventure that brings timeless tales to life with wit, warmth, and whimsy. Adapted by acclaimed playwright Mike Kenny, this fast-paced production features a lovable troupe of traveling storytellers—Wolfie, Syd, Harriet, and Barry—who use humor and imagination to retell five classic fables: The Tortoise and the Hare, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Wind and the Sun, The Lion and the Mouse, and The Wolf and the Jackdaw. Each story delivers a valuable life lesson on patience, honesty, kindness, and perseverance, making it a delightful experience that entertains while inspiring young audiences to think, feel, and grow.

Along with the show, Adventure Theatre is presenting an opportunity to help support a great cause. Aesop’s Fables plush toys will be for sale, and if you purchase one, Adventure Theatre will donate its twin to Montgomery County Family Justice Center Foundation, a nonprofit that supports families who are victims of domestic violence who frequently have to flee with no personal belongings.

Celebrate Our Differences with Freckleface Strawberry at Adventure Theatre (Giveaway!)

Freckleface Strawberry The Musical, based on the beloved, best-selling book by actress and author, Julianne Moore, is coming to life on the Adventure Theatre stage this winter! With themes of self-acceptance and celebrating differences, the fun and touching show is sure to delight the whole family.

Freckleface Strawberry will do anything to get rid of her freckles – from scrubbing them with soap to caking on makeup… and even wearing a ski mask to school! Will her schoolmates realize that’s her under the mask? Will Freckleface be brave enough to finally face her complexion in the mirror? With the help of her loveable schoolmates, including an amazingly talented ballerina, a cutie jock, a charming ditz, and a totally kooky teacher, Freckleface learns that everyone is different – and that’s what makes everyone special.

The show opens this Friday, February 13, and runs through March 29. Tickets for all shows are $28, and available for purchase online. Look out for performances with bonus fun, like Valentines from Freckleface on February 14 and a Friendship Bracelet Day (date TBA).
