If you can swing a visit to the International Spy Museum this evening, you’ll be in for a real treat — and maybe a few tricks as well (after all, it is a hub of double agentry). Tonight is a Community Night at the museum, a new monthly extravaganza with a mission to spread goodwill to underserved communities.
On the last Wednesday of every month, the public is invited to attend free special events at the museum from 4 – 8pm. Guests will have the opportunity to win prizes and test their spy skills with fun-filled activities like a super-size cipher wheel, spy trivia, more. Every month, the Spy Museum will host a local organization to promote community unity in the DC Metropolitan area.
This month’s Spy Fright is being co-hosted by the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) and Community Family Life Services. Guests are encouraged to come in disguise — the best costume will win a prize!
What a fantastic way to do some early Halloween celebrating and check out one of the city’s most exciting museums. And considering admission is regularly $18, it’s also quite a deal.
The International Spy Museum is located in Penn Quarter at 800 F Street NW. Parking is tough in the area, so a garage is your best bet (when you consider what you save on admission to the museum, a $15-20 parking fee isn’t so bad). Even more convenient is the Metro — the Gallery Place/Chinatown station is a block away and served by the Red, Yellow, and Green lines and a little further away is the Metro Center station, served by the Orange, Blue, and Red lines.
