DC Public Pools – Quick Links

With the record high temps we’ve had lately, you’d think the DC Department of Parks & Recreation would make it easy to find public pool locations and hours. Surprisingly, a simple Google search doesn’t yield fast results; you’ve got to navigate through a bunch of links to find most of the info.

So, to save you a few clicks, here are quick links to all of the basics—hours, addresses, phone numbers, fees, and mapped locations—for the city’s public aquatic facilities.

Outdoor Pools
Outdoor swimming pools are open Mon – Fri: 1 pm – 8 pm; Sat – Sun: 12 pm – 6 pm for the season. DPR operates outdoor swimming pools during the summer; pools close one weekday each week for scheduled service and maintenance.

Aquatic Centers
Indoor pools and aquatic centers operate across the District throughout the year. Open swim and lap swim times are available at each site. Also open for swimming lessons and other events. For more information on classes and programs going on at an aquatic center see the Register for Programs section.

Children’s Pools
Children’s pools are small developmental pools that range in depths from one to three feet and are designed for children up to 12 years old. Outdoor children’s pools open for the summer season every year.

Spray Parks
An exciting and alternative way to cool off and have fun. Spray Parks open every summer and follow a similar schedule to outdoor pools.

Admission Fees
DC residents can use public facilities at no cost. Admission fees for non-residents vary by age.
