Saturday Morning Live!, the National Theatre’s free series for children, is returning this fall. For over 40 years, the program has brought the best in children’s entertainment to Pennsylvania Avenue.
This year’s theme is “In Harmony: Let’s Play Together!” Join the National Theatre on select Saturday mornings at 9:30am and 11am to celebrate all the things that unite us. Offerings include interactive performances, puppets, dance, and music, all designed to light up imaginations and celebrate a world of wonder. It’s free. It’s fun. It’s a great way to Saturday.
The season begins with Milo the Magnificent, a highly engaging puppet show about an aspiring magician created and performed by award-winning duo Alex and Olmsted. Milo the Magnificent runs October 21 at 9:30am and 11am in the Helen Hayes Gallery on the second floor of The National Theatre. Tickets are free, but donations are always welcome. Later, the National Theatre closes out 2023 by hosting back-to-back programs on its mainstage. First up on Saturday, November 18: Havana Hop, an interactive musical adventure created by and starring Paige Hernandez. Then, celebrate the holiday season with the Virginia Ballet Company as they perform selections from The Nutcracker on Saturday, December 9.
