1. After being closed for over a year, ARTECHOUSE has reopened with a new, very cool, immersive exhibition… SUBMERGE Project is dynamic, fun, and mesmerizing, featuring 14 digital worlds and 18 interactive installations created by 13 artist teams. At the core is a show in the main gallery, a 45-minute loop of floor-to-ceiling cinematic digital projections, everything from delightful scenes of flamingos dancing to anime battles to brilliant cityscapes to fairy-tale like dreamscapes to futuristic environments. Side galleries contain smaller installations with interactive elements, several that kids will dig, like talking to a penguin and directing art with movement. KFDC tip: Don’t miss the art behind the bar, which takes “immersive” to another level and puts you in it! ARETCHOUSE is open Thursday, 12-10pm; Friday & Saturday 10am – 10pm; and Sunday, 12-8pm. Admission is $22-26/adult, $19/age 4-15, free/3 & under. They also have a Family Package that is $20/person.
2. Aaargh, mateys! This Saturday, September 19, is Talk Like a Pirate Day at Planet Word. Adventures will include a treasure hunt with wordy clues across the galleries, mystery cases full of puzzle solving, an escape room-like experience, and more activities for a mighty fun time.
