Five Things: September 4, 2024

1. It’s always fun to pair a hike with a good post-hike hang that includes food, sips, or more fun to extend a day out.  We enjoyed a couple of “hike & hang” outings this past weekend.  One of them was a nice hike around Manassas National Battlefield Park, where Civil War battles took place, followed by a hang at The Winery at La Grange, where we enjoyed sips and food in a lovely, laid-back setting that is both kid and dog friendly.  More details about both coming soon! (And see more recommendations for the hike/hang combo here.)

2. It might seem early to be thinking about Halloween, but the National Zoo has announced dates for their annual Boo at the Zoo, October 18-20, and tickets are available for purchase.  It’s not a bad idea to snag them now, as the event usually sells out.

3. I just posted about our summer vacation, one part of it, anyway. If interested, see a recap of our time in Barcelona.

4. It looks like these old school shoes are going to be back in style this fall — and I’m excited about it!

5. Plan for peak leaf peeping 🍁
