Five Things: August 14, 2024

1. The LEGO Discovery Center in Springfield, VA, just celebrated its first anniversary this past weekend, and Emily attended the bash with her five-year-old son.  He had a five-hour blast enjoying the many interactive stations and checking out all the brick exhibits. Get a glimpse of it here.  PS: This would make for a perfect end-of-summer special outing with young kids! Learn more and book tickets here.

2. And for a cool way to wind down summer break with older kids, how about some fun in the trees?  A visit to the Adventure Park at Sandy Spring, an aerial forest experience that has you navigating ropes courses from tree to tree, was a pre-back-to-school tradition for us for many years.  It’s a bit of a splurge, but worth it for those who enjoy fun and challenging adventures. And they currently have some deals going on.

3. Have you explored all of these off-the-beaten-path museums in DC?

4. The Dermstore Anniversary Sale makes it a good time to stock up on skin care and beauty products. A few picks: This sun protection kit with a variety of products is an amazing value. This snail mucin that sounds odd, but I keep reading about it and want to try.  The toothpaste. And pretty much anything from this French brand that is highly rated and often recommended.

5. Embarrassingly relatable… lol.
