The Spring Occoquan Arts & Crafts Show is less than a month away! On June 3 and 4, the streets of the historic town will abound with creative works, live music, great food, and activities for all ages! For the 48th year, Occoquan will close its roads for the annual showcase of more than 300 contemporary and country crafters and artisans from across the country, drawing thousands of visitors to browse and shop one-of-a-kind, hand crafted items in the charming riverfront town.
While the arts and crafts are the centerpiece of the event, there will be festivities galore beyond that, including several especially for young show-goers. Mill House Museum will host a story time with a children’s author, plus arts and crafts throughout the weekend. There will be a firetruck that visitors are welcome to climb aboard and explore. And Fairy Jennabelle will bring her magical face painting skills both days of the event (for a small fee).
Live performances will keep the crowd entertained all weekend. Kids are sure to be awed by magician The Amazing Kevin on Saturday from 1-2pm, and local kids’ music fave Rocknoceros will get fans grooving on Sunday from 12-2pm.
Visitors to the show can ride a shuttle bus from one of four parking locations and will be dropped off at one of three stops — details are available on the website. Shuttle cost is $5 per person round-trip (cash only), but admission to the event is free!
The Occoquan Spring Arts & Crafts Show runs June 3-4, 10am – 6pm on Saturday, and 10am – 5pm on Sunday. And if you want to plan ahead, mark your calendar for September 23-24 when the Fall Arts & Crafts Show takes place. Stay updated by following the Occoquan Craft Show on Facebook
