From now through January 1, you can see Georgetown in a whole new light — literally. Georgetown GLOW is the annual holiday season exhibit that has the neighborhood sparkling with modern light art installations on display throughout the bustling community, which is extra lively and festive this time of year.
Works by local, regional, and international artists are illuminated in both public and privately-owned spaces every evening from 6-10pm. You can see them along the C&O Canal, up Wisconsin Avenue, at the Washington Harbour and Georgetown Waterfront Park, Grace Church, and more nearby places. Take the family to dinner, then go for a stroll to check them all out.
Finding all of the installations is a little adventure in itself, and watching them twinkle, spin, change color, and just glow in their environments is mesmerizing. This is a quick glimpse, but you really need to experience it in person. And Georgetown GLOW is all free to see.
