Baby Loves Disco turns 10 this year, and they’re celebrating with more family dance parties lined up for 2014! Families with kids ages 6 months to 7 years are invited to get out those snazzy outfits, shake those booties, grab a tattoo, do a craft, dance, dance, dance, and more. Real music with a real DJ and MC ensure fun for all ages. (And a cash bar for adults helps, too!)
First up is their annual Valentine’s Day Ball, featuring chocolate treats, make-your-own valentines cards, mommy-daddy slow dances, arts & crafts, dance lessons, contests, unlimited juice boxes, snacks, cash bar for non-driving parents, and surprises galore. It’s all happening on February 9, 11am – 1:30pm.
On March 16, you can break out the bell bottoms and funky afros to celebrate the Groovy 70’s. And the fun will continue on April 27 (theme still TBD) and monthly beyond that!
All of these events will take place at the Rock & Roll Hotel, their new home in the Atlas District on H Street NE.
Tickets are $18/walking human or $60/Four Pack and available for purchase online.
Giveaway: Want a chance to win a Four-Pack of tickets to Baby Loves Disco? Simply leave a comment telling me your favorite snow day activity. Cuddling at home watching the snow fall while drinking hot coco and eating freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
I love making cookies!
We love to bake banana bread and play with play dough.
Sledding and making snowmen at the great hill in our neighborhood — while our crazy little dog runs in circles around us.
Baking banana chocolate chip muffins
We make our Indian traditional snacks Onion & Mirch (spice) Bhajji and have them along with Hot Masala Tea!
Doing art projects and having dance parties at home.
Sledding and hot cocoa!
Watching my 17 month old help me make oatmeal raisin chocolate chip cookies and sneak chocolate chips 🙂
Recently I had the kids raid the dollar store for coloring books and art projects which was great for a snow day. Otherwise, we love a “Movie Night” complete with a dinner picnic on the floor.
Finger-paint dance party. Paper on the floor, paint on the feet, tunes on the stereo.
Making snowmen and sledding, making ice cream with snow and concentrated juice, and then drinking hot coco by the fireplace.
I love taking pics and videotaping the kids while they r playing in the woods, followed by serving them delicious hot chocolate to warm them.
Drinking salted carmel hot coco cuddled on the sofa with Richard Scary
My daughter and I favorite snow day activity consist of snowball fights and making mini snow-men!
Reading
My daughter is almost 13 months and really enjoys music and Dora. On these past few snow days we have had dance parties to her favorite “Dora Rocks” DVD.
Wow,
What a long list of interesting activties. Honestly, with a full family, I think the tickets are priced reasonably. Myself and a few others I know are really looking forward to all of it.
playing in the snow!
Making forts and reading
My two-year-old can be endlessly entertained simply walking through the snow with her snow boots and cold weather gear. I love sledding and snow angles, and warming up under a blanket on the couch with hot cocoa (a big treat for my little girl).
My (nearly) two year old and I love to bake. The polar vortex led to fresh soft pretzels, chocolate pop tarts and a birthday cake for his aunt. His favorite thing is to stir, but cracking eggs is a close second (it’s just a LOT messier)!
A fake indoor snowball fight since it’s too cold to take the little guy outside! Imagine the movie hook with the good fight but we pretend it’s snowballs instead. We even wear hats and mittens!
