Monday – Head out to Dulles for Air & Space exploration beyond the District. The Steven F. Udvar Hazy Center showcases flight artifacts they can’t fit into the museum on the Mall. See all kinds of air and space crafts, pretend to pilot in a flight simulator, get hands-on in a discovery station, and much more. Hours are 10am – 5:30pm. Admission is free, but parking is $15.

Tuesday – Combine story and play time at the National Building Museum’s Building Zone. The Book of the Month program is back with a reading of “Katie and the Big Snow” at 10:30am followed by a related art activity. Admission is $3 (free for members), and entry is timed, with guests admitted every hour. After, visit the PLAY WORK BUILD exhibit for even more fun at the NBM ($8/adult, $5/child admission, free for members).

Wednesday – Shake those sillies out with the Boogie Babes as they present Mr. Skip at Union Market. Showtime is 10:30am. Admission is $5/child, free for siblings 6 months and under. Plan to go early for coffee and/or stay after for lunch. (Note: There will also be shows on Thursday at Eastern Market and Friday at the Atlas Performing Arts Center, also at 10:30am.)

Thursday – Explore the world, from the home to across the globe, at the National Children’s Museum. Interactive exhibits and hands-on activities encourage play and learning. Hours are 10am – 4pm. Admission is $10.

Friday – Join National Symphony Orchestra violinists at Ebenezer’s Coffeehouse for a musical experience that tells the tale of three little violins and how their mother teaches them to “sing” through sweet lullabies like “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” all the way to breathtaking Bach. Starts at 10am, and immediately following the performance, little ones can can enjoy a Musical Instrument “Petting Zoo.” This program is part of NSO in your Neighborhood, which will be bringing a variety of NSO performances to venues around Capitol Hill January 6-13. Ebenezer’s is located at 201 F Street NE.
