Monday – Learn about the early days of flight at the College Park Aviation Museum. Check out historic and reproduction aircraft from some of the world’s first air travel adventures and enjoy all kinds of interactive exhibits and hands-on activities related to flight. Keep an eye on the runway right outside the floor-to-ceiling windows — you might see planes take off and land at the College Park Airport, the oldest continuously operating airport in the world! Open daily 10am – 5pm. Admission is $4/adults, $2/children, free for ages 2 and under.

Tuesday – Head to the National Building Museum for play and story time. The Book of the Month literacy program will take place in the Building Zone at 10:30am and 11:30am with readings of The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton. Admission is $3/person for non-members, with timed entry on the hour. Visit the PLAY WORK BUILD exhibit while you’re at the museum to let the kids romp in the Imagination Playground and build with foam blocks and Lincoln Logs ($8/adult, $5/child for non-members.

Wednesday – See Imagination Stage’s new production for little ones, From Here to There. The show is all about play, and performances are followed by a “free play” session, giving the children an opportunity to explore some of the materials and create their own stories. Showtime is 11:45am, and tickets are $10.

Thursday – Get a nature fix, indoors and out, at Long Branch Nature Center. Peek inside the terrariums for a close look at snakes, turtles, frogs, and toads, and see fish swim in a small indoor pond. If weather permits, continue your viewing outdoors at the larger pond and hike the nearby trails. Hours are 10am – 5pm (Tuesday – Saturday, 1-5pm Sunday), and admission is free.

Friday – Arrrrgh! Experience the brand new “Real Pirates” exhibit at the National Geographic Museum on the first day it opens to the public! Hours are 9am – 5pm. Admission is $11/adults, $7/ages 5-12, free for 4 and under.
