Where to Play on the Weekdays: January 7-11

Adventure Playland at Cabin John Regional Park

The Adventure Playland at Cabin John Regional Park

Monday – Bundle up to enjoy the sunshine and some outdoor play at Cabin John Regional Park. Kids can climb, swing, jump, slide, and run in the sprawling Adventure Playland. It’s open sunrise to sunset, and admission is free.

Tuesday – Head to the National Building Museum for play and storytime. The Book of the Month club takes place on the Building Zone at 10:30am and 11:30am with readings of Snowflake Bentley. Admission to the Building Zone ($3/non-members) is timed and on the hour, but if you don’t make it in, just head up to the PLAY WORK BUILD exhibit to let the kids romp in the Imagination Playground and build with foam blocks and Lincoln Logs (for non-members: $8/adult, $5/child).

Wednesday – If the forecast holds, we’re in for some fab weather (for a winter day, anyway), so get out and savor it! Find an outdoor activity on the KFDC list of the best places in the DC area to spend a beautiful day outdoors with the kids.

Thursday – Catch a performance of Wake Up, Brother Bear! at Imagination Stage. Recommended for ages 1-5, children are invited to join the action with a small bag of props that help create magical moments. Tickets are $10 and still available for the 11:45am show.

Friday – The Boogie Babes are back after a winter break! Join them at the Atlas Performing Arts Center as Bridgette and Dawn on Conga get little ones grooving to their island-inspired sounds. Showtime is 10:30am. Admission is $5/child, free for siblings 6 months and under.
