All Aboard for Greenberg’s Train & Toy Show

You don’t have to wait until the holidays to see the miniature train displays that thrill kids of all ages.  Greenberg’s Train & Toy Show, the largest of its kind to travel the northeast U.S., is rolling into the area this weekend for a two-day model train extravaganza.

The shows are designed to promote toy trains to even the youngest enthusiast. Huge model train displays that make real train sounds and simulate steam will be on view. Guests can enjoy a variety of workshops and demos.  There will be more than 400 tables of model train paraphernalia available for purchase along with door prize giveaways.  And kids will love going for a ride on the Train on Time Riding Train.

This will all take place at the Dulles Expo Center on Saturday and Sunday, August 27 & 28.  The $7 admission is good all weekend, and kids 12 and under are free.  The show is open both days from 10am -4pm. Get directions here.

Toy trains are one of the most memorable kids toys I remember playing with while growing up. I remember spending a lot of time acting as if I was the conductor as I would make up my own scenarios. I think it is great that they have these events that allow children and adults to see all the different styles and makes of miniature toy train sets. The holidays are only a few months away so I think I am going to start shopping around soon.
