If your child is a budding meteorologist, takes a special interest in the weather, or just likes unique and fun experiences, then make some room in your schedule this weekend. Saturday, August 28, is Storm Center Newseum Family Day, a chance to get an inside look at weather in the media.
Special activities will take place from 11am -5pm, all with a weather and meteorology focus. Kids can play the part of a weather reporter, learn how meteorologists predict weather, participate in trivia games about weather, enjoy a children’s book reading, check out gear that has been through hurricanes, and meet WJLA-TV’s lead meteorologist, Bob Ryan. Visit the website for the schedule of activities.
As if that isn’t enough, the Family Fun Deal is still running, so admission for kids 18 and under is FREE. (The deal lasts through September 6.)
The Newseum is located at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
