It’s Party Time for Kids at Merlot’s Masterpiece

Are you looking for a creative way to celebrate your little Picasso’s next birthday? Merlot’s Masterpiece, a paint and wine studio on the U Street Corridor known for its art gatherings for adults, is now offering party options for young Monets-in-the-making, too!

Kids birthday parties at Merlot’s Masterpiece are much like the regular adult classes — sans the wine, of course. Budding artists can enjoy painting experiences in a fun, social environment, letting the creative juices (and actual juice) flow. Multiple canvases are set up in the studio for party-goers as a local artist guides them step by step through the painting process.

A Basic Package includes two hours of party time for a minimum of 15 children. All art supplies are included, and canvases can either be blank or art can be pre-sketched on them for younger children. And along with the art instructor, an on-site event coordinator helps the party run smoothly, taking some of the stress off parents so they can enjoy the celebration, too.

Merlot’s Masterpiece also hosts craft or DIY parties, where children can make their own creations, and add-on themes and food can be incorporated for an extra fee. A Picasso party includes a child painting, plus food, cupcakes, and supplies. There’s also Tiara Decorating & Tutu Making, Tea Party (tea and painting), Craft Party (your choice of craft), and more! They do all the work by coordinating the food, beverages, and activities. And if you want an over the top party experience with event design and themed or customized decorations, they can do that, too.

Merlot’s Masterpiece is located at 1512 U Street NW, two blocks from the U Street Metro. If you’re interested in their offerings for adults, you can view their calendar of wine and paint classes here.
