Maury at the Market

Any moms and dads in need of a date night? Here’s a recommendation for a great Saturday night out: Maury at the Market, a silent auction and reception to support PTA programs at Maury Elementary, a DC public school on Capitol Hill.  On the evening of March 26 from 7-10pm, Eastern Market’s North Hall will be transformed into a swanky party venue where guests can mix and mingle, enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks, and bid on a variety of fantastic auction items.

The full disclosure:  This is a fundraiser for my son’s school, and I am pitching in on the PTA fundraising committee.  But I wouldn’t even think of recommending this event if I didn’t think you would enjoy it.  Over 250 people from both our community and beyond attended last year, and the feedback was excellent.  We hope to make it an even bigger success this year.

Auction items include a week at a cabin in the country, a W Hotel stay, restaurant gift cards, gym memberships, theatre and sporting event tickets, private tours of Nationals Park and the National Zoo, gift certificates to sports camps, and much more.

Tickets are $25 until March 18; $30 at the door.  If you go to the Maury Elementary School website, you can print a ticket order form, and send it in with your payment, then pick up tickets upon arrival at the Market.  The cost includes entrance to the event, all food and drinks, and a really good time.

So, come join the party, support a local school, and possibly even score an auction win.
