Spring Break is practically right around the corner, and summer will be here before we know it. For many parents, it’s time to start thinking about how to keep the kids engaged and entertained during the breaks from school. Yep, it’s time to sign up for camp. If you’re still researching options, here’s one to consider — you could even win a free week for your child!

The Creative Difference is an educational enrichment program, focusing on out-of school opportunities for children to broaden their learning experience through hands-on and creative activities. Hosting camps during the summer, school holidays, after school, and even parents’ night out, camps are offered for children ages 3-10 years old. Programs are designed to inspire children in creative thinking, problem solving, self-direction, discovery, higher-order thinking skills, and the courage to create something different.

And something unique about Creative Difference from many other camps is the flexibility in registration. You aren’t obligated to enroll by the week; you can sign up your child for individual days.

Sessions have different themes, catering to a variety of interests. Star Wars, Mixed Media, Art Extravaganza, LegoTopia, The Way of the Jedi, Wacky Crafts, and Up-cycled Art are just some of the concepts that campers can focus on during their sessions. Rates vary by week, and half-days are available during some sessions, as are early and aftercare.

You can read more about Creative Difference camps on the registration page. And for a chance to win a free week, simply enter the giveaway below.

Get on Board the Bethesda Big Train Baseball Camp

Summer Camps

It’s only February, but many of us are already thinking about summer, as camps are starting to open up registration. I’ll be highlighting some that I think will interest readers, starting with this one from Bethesda Big Train…

The Bethesda Big Train Baseball Camp is back for its 15th summer! At the Big Train & BCC Baseball Summer Camp, your child will be coached by Big Train Manager Sal Colangelo, the Big Train coaches, and the Big Train college stars. More than 100 Big Train alumni have been drafted by Major League teams to play professional ball.

All campers will receive excellent instruction in the fundamentals of the game as well as the opportunity to play in a live game each day. Each camper will receive an official Big Train & BCC Baseball Summer Camp t-shirt that will entitle the camper to free admission to all Big Train home games at Shirley Povich Field during the 2013 regular season.

We will be offering six exciting summer camps in 2013 to boys and girls ages 5-16: General Camp, Advanced Development Camp, Pitching Camp, Celebrity Camp featuring Nationals and Orioles players, and Garrett Stephenson Baseball Camp. The camps will be held at the various fields in Cabin John Regional Park.

Go here for more information on how to register.
