It may feel early to start thinking about the holidays, but the National Postal Museum is getting into the festive spirit this weekend!
Every year, the U.S. Postal Service creates new stamps for the holiday season. And this Saturday, September 19, the museum is hosting the Celebrate with Stamps Family Festival for the unveiling of the 2026 Christmas Cookies Forever stamps.
From 11am to 3pm, drop in for an afternoon celebrating the art, culture, and creativity of stamps. The event is free and open to all ages, with hands-on activities, music, storytelling, and lots of opportunities to get creative. The big moment of the day will be the 12pm unveiling of the new holiday stamps. There will also be lots to do before and after the ceremony, including story time sessions, a book signing, art and music activities, and more hands-on fun.
This will all take place throughout the museum, so it’s a great opportunity to explore the whole collection while you’re there. I always recommend the Postal Museum as a particularly great place to visit with children with an easy to navigate space and engaging exhibits that appeal to all ages.
