Camp Gan Israel is a Jewish camp for kids ages 2-10 years old. The all-in-one program includes crafts, sports, gymnastics, martial arts, field trips, swimming, Judaics, baking, drama, dance, and many more exciting activities.
Camp is run at the TheSHUL – Lubavitch Center and is uniquely suited for a great summer camp experience. Conveniently located in the heart of Dupont Circle (just across Connecticut Ave. from the Washington Hilton), it’s easily metro accessible and has spacious indoor facilities that enable summer fun, no matter the weather outside. Nearby Mitchell and Kalorama Parks offer age appropriate playgrounds and playing fields, adding to the Camp Gan Israel experience. Swimming takes place at the Washington Hilton, and group swim lessons are included for campers in grades K-2.
The camp runs for three one-week sessions June 22 – July 10. Core camp hours are 9am – 3:30pm, but before and after care is offered, extending available options from 8am – 5:30pm daily. A healthy lunch and snacks are included for all campers, and the camp is allergy-friendly, accommodating children with various food allergies.

Last week we took our son to Passport DC and roamed in and out of the Embassies along International Drive. He tried new foods and got the opportunity to use his new camera. We had a blast!
Hello,
My daughter and I had a blast this past weekend, we attended the Embassies open house in DC. It was a beautiful day, great performance, and very educational event. We were mostly impressed with the Peruvian culture, Mexican paintings, and Fhilifino’s dancing show.
Thanks!
A favorite activity we did over the weekend was ride bikes!
We were traveling the mid-west and rode up the top of the St Louis Arch in Missouri. 🙂
We went to a Dumbarton Oaks, museum and garden. The museum was quite nice, but the garden was truly magical! I felt like I could not be on planet earth (in the middle of DC!?) at each new turn, past big spilling purple masses of wisteria, up little winding staircases, under and arbor with citrus blossom fragrance, narrow “elven” paths…. Thank you for the recc!
Horseback riding.
We had a fun family picnic at Yards Park, joined Gan Shalom for a picnic and kids games at Garfield Park and had breakfast at Eastern Market.
our favorite activity was our daughter’s ballet recital at THEARC!
My favorite activity was the National Museum of the American Indian’s Pachamama: Mother Earth Celebration. My daughters are half Bolivian, so it was awesome to get to teach them about their heritage and to celebrate Mother Earth too! Thank you for the amazing recommendations!
Went to a baby shower with the kiddo–completee with onesie drawing contests, followed by the Lego store and playground….
Yesterday we visited The White House. Er were lucky enough to get to take a look inside it. The kids loved it. Today we went to Mount Vernon. Love having this little treasure just minutes from our house. Kids love the educational center there.
