Shows on a String

The fairy tale genre’s most famous puppet is the star of The Puppet Co’s latest production. “Pinocchio” is taking the main stage at the Glen Echo theatre now through November 19. Here’s the description of the show from TPC website:

“Hailed by critics as, “A Masterpiece,” this production was created by the father of TPC Co-Founder, Christopher Piper, and is completely refurbished and adapted for the Puppet Co. stage. Life-size marionettes and live actors tell Carlo Collodi’s story of what it means to be “real.” Share the trials and tribulations of the little live puppet as he finds, in one adventure after another, that the “easy way” isn’t always the right way.”

Shows will take place every Thursday and Friday at 10am and 11:30am, and on Saturday and Sunday at 11:30am and 1pm. Main stage shows are recommended for children 3.5 and older. Purchase tickets in advance online to guarantee your seats or get them at the box office. All tickets are $10.

A new Tiny Tots production will also be at The Puppet Co. this weekend. “World on a String” will be performed on Saturday at 10am.

About the show: “Experience a whirlwind tour around the world! See French poodles perform the Cancan; laugh as a Russian Dog Act careens out of control; and Bongo from the Congo amazes everyone with his skill on a big flying vine!”

Tiny Tots shows are recommended for children ages 0-4. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online or at the box office.
