Curtain Closings

Summer vacation is nearing its end–DCPS is back in session in just over a week–and so are the runs of some of the season’s most popular childrens plays.  If you’re hoping to treat the kids to some theater before school starts again, you can still catch a few shows before the curtains close.  Here are a few performances on the way out with seats still available.

How I Became a Pirate at Imagination Stage will have its final performances tomorrow, August 14.  There are still a few seats available for the 11am, 1:30pm, and 4pm shows.  Get your tickets here.

Also at Imagination Stage, Pirates! A Boy at Sea will take the stage for the last time on August 15.  Seats remain for the Sunday shows at 1:30pm and 4pm. Get tickets here.

Mary Poppins will be taking an umbrella ride into the sunset after August 22.  Tickets are still available for most shows, though availability is limited.  To see what is left and reserve seats, go here.

At Wolf Trap, the cast of Legally Blonde The Musical will sing their final notes this weekend at Sunday’s 8pm show.  You can still get tickets for all of the remaining shows, which take place tonight at 8pm, tomorrow at 2pm and 8pm, and on Sunday at 2pm and 8pm.  Go here for tickets.

With every curtain close, there is an opening on the way.  Look for a post on upcoming theatre performances soon!
