Spring Picks from Amazon’s Big Seasonal Sale

Amazon’s Big Spring Sale is underway, and like all of their sales, it’s a doozy.  There are great deals on everything from seasonal items to electronics to housewares to clothes and accessories to travel gear to games and toys — and more!  It’s always a lot to sift through, so once again, I have done some of that legwork and found some items that I think are useful, fun, good deals, or would enhance life in some way, big or small. Maybe you’ll think so, too.  Happy Shopping (& Saving)!

Ear Buds – I always include earbuds in these sale rec round-ups, and that’s because they’re the kind of item that always seems to be needed — at least in our family.  This time, I’m the one who needs a new pair, as my two-year-old Airpods are dying.  At $30 with a solid rating, I’m going for these this time.

Stanley Water Bottle – Spring sports are starting up for kids, so it’s a good time to refresh water bottles.  These Stanley tumblers are 25% off, and there are a bunch of color options.

Adidas Sackpack – We have a few of these bags in different colors, and they come in handy surprisingly often.  They’re used to bring extra items to school, like clothes for sports, or as a light daypack on a hike or bike ride when we just want to carry a few items.  We also pack them to use when we travel, since they can be folded flat in our luggage to use in our destinations.

Kids Tevas – Sandals or water shoes are something the kids need new every year as they grow.  These Tevas are cute and come in many colors.  Though if you like to keep little toesies covered, check out Crocs,  Native Shoes, or Keens — all included in this sale, too.

Teen Crocs – They are still popular with the teens, so snag a new pair for them, maybe a new color, while they’re on sale.  (Or get them for yourself — the flip flops are cute, too!)

Mosquito Repellant – This is a repeat recommendation from me, because we all know how awful the mosquitos can be in DC, and I really think this repellant helps.  It also now comes in a few colors along with the basic black.

Outdoor Grill – ‘Tis the season for outdoor grilling, and if you’re in need of a new one, take advantage of the deals in this sale.  There are many available, but this one has a high rating and is nearly 30% off the regular price.  See more options here.

Patio Set – Grilling goes right along with outdoor hangs, so spruce up the patio with new furniture, like this set that is nice and loungy. There are also many other different sizes and configurations in this sale that you can view here.

String Lights – While you’re getting your patio ready for the season, get some string lights, too. It’s an easy way to add some twinkling ambiance to an evening outside.  If these don’t work in your space, consider some pretty tabletop or hanging lanterns instead.

Luggage Set – There are several luggage sets included in this sale, and this one looks like the best deal.  With three pieces of different sizes, thousands of good reviews, and many colors available, it’s a good time to get it if you need new travel gear for your upcoming Spring Break or summer (or any future) trip.

Packing Cubes – These may be my #1 recommendation for traveling.  Packing cubes are a game changer for organizing clothes and accessories in your luggage.  They help me keep track of my things, plus using them seems to make more space in my bags.  This particular set is a great deal with eight pieces starting at less than $15.

Velvet Hangers – No more wire (or plastic) hangers!  We first bought velvet hangers for Owen to bring to college, and when I realized how amazing they were because clothes don’t slip off, I bought them for us at home, too.  They help make closets look more tidy since clothes stay in place. And I like the gold on this particular set.

Ninja Blender System – This isn’t the first time I’ve recommended the Ninja blender — we love ours and use it all the time for smoothies and soups.  A whole Ninja system is even better with a separate food processing bowl/blade and to-go smoothie cups along with the blender.

Ceramic Cookware – If, like us, you’re replacing your cookware with non-toxic pots and pans, like ceramic pieces, this set has good reviews.  Plus, it’s such a nice color (but comes in others, too).

Glass Storage Containers – Along the same lines, we’re replacing all of our plastic containers with glass and just bought these.  The 24-piece set is 46% off right now.

Bamboo Cutting Boards – In our personal war on microplastics, we also got rid of all our plastic cutting boards and bought a few new bamboo boards to use for meal prep.

Shark Hair Dryer – I can’t vouch for it myself, but I’ve heard the Shark is comparable to the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer (which I have and love, but it’s not on sale).  This Shark has excellent reviews and is a lot less expensive.

Spring Striped Sweatshirt – I just recommended this cute sweatshirt that is a perfect weight for spring (and comes in lots of color combos), and now it’s in this sale.

Umbrella – A pretty one for spring showers. Compact, too, to bring on travels.

Find & Seek Game – A perfect game to bring along on your outdoor adventures or even to play around your neighborhood.

Paddlesmash – I randomly came across this game, but it looks like a fun one for the whole family.  From what I can tell, it’s like a mix of Spike Ball and pickleball.  You don’t need a court to play; it can be set up anywhere, but the paddles and balls are the same as pickle.

Cherry Blossom Building Block Set – How perfect is this to work on with the kids during cherry blossom season?  Kind of like a LEGO set, just a different brand, and half the regular price in this sale.

KFDC Picks from Amazon’s BIG Spring Sale

In case you hadn’t heard, Amazon is having a Big Spring Sale that runs today through March 25.  It’s a lot like their Prime Day sale, but happening at the start of this season, so it’s perfect timing to gear up for the warm months, get ready for spring cleaning/organizing, and just take advantage of some really good deals. As with all Amazon sales, this one is large enough that it’s very time consuming to browse through everything, so I’ve done some of that for you and picked some products that I think are worth snagging.  Hope you think so, too.  Happy Shopping (& Saving)!

Solar Eclipse Glasses
Get ready for the solar eclipse!  I remember last time there being a last minute scramble for glasses for a lot of people, so make sure you’re good to go ahead of time.

Camping Tent
With warmer weather on the way, you might be thinking about a camping trip — and this tent may get you to actually plan it.  It’s a great deal on a 4-person tent , plus it had really good reviews.  Here’s a write-up about one of our camping trips, if you want some more inspo.

Volleyball
This caught my eye because Owen and his friends have been playing a lot of volleyball lately at the courts by the Lincoln Memorial.  But volleyball is a super fun family game, too.  We’ve had a blast getting together with other families at Garfield Park for picnics and volleyball.  And sometimes it’s just fun to pop the ball around without a net.  This colorful ball would make it even more so.

Light Daypack
This pack is small, but looks like it has enough room for all of the essentials for a hike or day out.  It’s also water resistant and packable, so you can fold it up to fit in your luggage, then have it to use at your travel destination. Best feature: It’s less than $14 right now.

Picnic Blanket
Plan for al fresco meals in pretty spots!  Love that this blanket rolls up nicely with a handle for easy carrying on a hike or however you get to your picnic destination.

Keens for Kids
When my kids were little, we bought them a new pair of Keens every summer; in fact, I think they had these exact colors at one point. I found them to be the perfect versatile shoes.  Sturdy and comfortable enough to wear all day, they can be worn in water, and the soles are thick and gripping for running around, hikes, and all the wear and tear kids put on their kicks.

Chacos for Adults
I’ve been wearing Chacos for about 20 years and love them as sporty sandals. They are great for warm-weather travel — I recommended them in my Greece packing list — as they can be worn in water situations and just about everywhere, even hiking, because they have a good all-terrain sole and arch support. Under $35 is a great price for them!  On sale for men, too.

Packing Cubes
This isn’t the first time I’ve recommended packing cubes — because they are that great.  I’m totally serious when I say they have revolutionized the way I pack for trips.  And this is the cheapest I have ever seen a set (under $12!).  Get them for your upcoming spring and summer (and fall and winter) travel!

Electronics Travel Case
For more travel organization, this handy little bag has pockets and sections for your phone, ear buds, portable charger, and cables.  Price depends on color, but the pink is less than $6, and the black and light gray are just over $6 (the rest are around $14).  PS: This nifty charging station looks like it would be great to have for home and travel!

Portable Steam Cleaner
For spring cleaning and beyond… I’ve seen this Bissell Little Green Cleaner recommended numerous times. It’s apparently amazing for cleaning rugs, upholstered furniture, car interiors, and much more. It also costs a lot less than all the fancy vaccuums.

Water Bottle Organizer
Genius!  We all have so many water bottles and use them even more when it’s warmer.  Here’s a nice, neat way to store them, but also have them handy to make sure everyone stays hydrated.

Undersink Organizer
If your teens’ bathroom is anything like our teen’s bathroom, this undersink organizer should be very helpful in reducing the counter clutter. Purchasing with high hopes!🤞

Sports Equipment Organizer
I know I’ve recommended something like this before for all the sports equipment and whatever else needs organizing. It all seems to pile up more as the weather gets nicer and there’s extra outdoor play.

Patio Set
It’s time to get our patios ready for the warm seasons, and if you’re looking for new seating, this patio set is not just great for hanging out, it’s a fantastic deal. It looks a lot like the one we have from Ikea that cost much more than this one.

Shade Umbrella
Perfect for the patio,  this standing umbrella offers shade when it’s sunny, and pretty lighting when it’s dark.

Mosquito Repellent

I first mentioned this a few years ago after I read about it on Wirecutter… we have one, and use it when we’re hanging on our patio.  It does really seem to help with mosquitos, though I always use a back-up as well because I tend to be a target for the pesky biters.

Grill Tool Set
This set has every tool needed for good grilling.  Even better it would make a great gift for Father’s Day — or Mother’s Day (we moms like to grill, too)!

Ninja Blender
How about a new blender for all the smoothies you’re going to make when the weather is warmer?  We love our Ninja — for smoothies, gazpacho, soups, cocktail and mocktails, and more yumminess.

La Blanca Swimsuit
This exact swimsuit is available at Nordstrom, but for at least $10 more, maybe even $20, depending on the color. I’ve tried it on — it’s a great one-piece, simple and classic, and the ruching and cut makes it flattering for all body types.

Pool/Beach Bag
Something about this bag says pool more than beach to me, but whatever the use, it’s large enough to carry all the towels and goggles and sunscreen and other random things needed for a day of water fun.  Only the red stripes are on sale, but it’s the best color, imo.

Sweater Set
I just shared this cute knit set in a DM post — and now that’s it’s on sale, I recommend it even more!  I already have it in black, but now I’m going to snatch it up in a lighter color to wear for spring and summer.

Workout Leggings
I’ve bought inexpensive tights on Amazon before, and they have worked out (literally!), so I’m giving this pair a go, too.  They have good reviews, and for under $20, they are worth a try!

You can also find some great Adidas apparel and footwear, Levi’s clothing, Bose headphones and speakers, Cuisinart appliances, and more!
