Kids can bring their bikes and trikes to the museum’s Launch Zone for an afternoon of bike decorating, fixing, and riding. This includes a helmet and bike check station, a bicycle rodeo, and a parade to show off all the newly decorated rides.

Arrrrrgh, Matey! If your sprogs like a good high-seas adventure, then head to Darnall’s Chance Museum House this Saturday, May 22, for Pirate Fest. From 11am – 4pm, enjoy loads of pirate-themed activities, live music, and food. And be sure to dress the kids in their best swashbuckling clothes—they could win some pirate’s booty in a costume contest. Admission is $5/person. The museum is located at 14800 Governor Oden Bowie Drive in Upper Marlboro, MD
Washington Nationals vs. Baltimore Orioles
It’s the Battle of the Beltway as the Nationals take on the Orioles this weekend. The teams are playing Friday at 7:05pm, Saturday at 4:05pm, and Sunday at 1:35pm, but kids have the opportunity to run the bases after Sundays game. Visit the Nationals website for tickets.
Shrek Forever After
There’s a good chance of rain this weekend, so a movie may be in order. Our most beloved green ogre is back on the big screen, and this time in 3D. The latest film in the Shrek franchise opens in theaters today, and so far reviews have been pretty good. If your kid is a fan of Shrek and the gang, you can catch them at at one of many local theaters.
