Style Your Seedlings

There’s something undeniably satisfying about shopping for my kids’ clothes. Call me crazy, but I may even enjoy it more than shopping for my own wardrobe. This is partly because I don’t have to try anything on (then dejectedly have to utter, “Um, it didn’t,” when the salesperson inevitably asks, “How did it work out?”), and it’s also because I love to think about how sweet my babes will look when they wear their new threads. Maybe there’s something primal to it, as well; there’s a sense of fulfilling a basic need of my offspring each time I pick out new piece for them. Whether in-store or online, selecting those little shirts, pants, dresses and shoes just makes me…happy.

Surely, I’m not alone in this mini-addiction. Right?

If you’re also fiend for your kids’ fashion and love to discover new, cute wears for them, then make some room in the closet. This Friday, June 4, the Four Seasons in Georgetown is hosting a trunk show for Seedling Kids, a fantastic, unique collection of nature-inspired children’s clothes made from 100% organic cotton and low impact, water-based inks. The full disclosure: the line is owned and created by a friend of a friend. BUT, I wouldn’t even think about recommending her clothes if they were anything less than completely adorable. It’s the kind of apparel I love for my kids—soft yet stylish, cool yet comfortable. Sasha just got the daisy bubble dress, so she can conquer the playground while looking cute and trendy.

The Seedling Kids Trunk Show is taking place in the hotel’s M29 boutique from 12 – 4pm on Friday. It’s a great chance to snag some of their newest products—adorable dresses, T-shirts, yoga pants, onesies, and even some adult clothes. Seedling owner, Stephanie Hogan Webb, will also be showcasing and selling some of her handcrafted jewelry, and offering custom stamping on her wisdom word pieces.

The hotel is located at 2800 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. If you can’t make it to the trunk show, you can peruse and purchase the collection on the Seedling Kids website. Happy shopping!
