Montgomery County 3rd-5th Graders Can Win an Arbor Day Celebration for Their School!

Montgomery County 3rd-5th grade students are invited to participate in a poster contest for a chance to host an Arbor Day Celebration at their school in April! The theme for this year’s contest is “The Benefits of Trees in Montgomery County.”

Students are encouraged to get creative and submit a poster. Each school will select a winning entry and submit it to Montgomery Parks, who will then select a top winner. The school with the winning entry will have the chance to host Montgomery Parks’ Arbor Day Celebration for 3rd-5th grade students featuring tons of fun and educational activities! These will include canopy exploration, tree plantings, tree identification, compost demonstrations, photos with Montgomery Parks’ mascot Woody the Tree, and more. The winning entry will also be displayed at Montgomery Parks’ four nature centers throughout the month of April.

All Montgomery County elementary schools have received information about the contest, so interested students should talk to their teachers about submitting an entry. Posters must be submitted to the student’s elementary school no later than March 25, 2016. The winning submission will be chosen on March 31, and the winning school will be notified by April 4. Official rules and submission guidelines can be found here.

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Montgomery Parks, however, I only promote programs, services, and events that I truly believe in and/or think would appeal to KFDC readers.
