Mark your calendars then be prepared to hide the car keys. There’s an event coming up that will have kids feeling like they own the road. The 14th Annual Cheverly Truck Touch is rolling back into town on Saturday, May 7, from 10am – 2pm.
I can’t believe it’s been exactly a year since I posted about the 13th annual event with some background on my kids’ fascination with all kinds of vehicles. Our family attended last year’s festivities, and it was a blast for all, especially Owen, who was four at the time. He got to check out the cab and trailer of an 18-wheeler, honk the horn of a dump truck, sit atop–and in!–a digger, pretend to race a speed boat, “drive” a fire truck, and much more.
This year’s attendees will have the same opportunities and more with over 20 vehicles on display. All of them will be available for young motorists in the making to explore. And the fun doesn’t end with the wheels — there will also be a small ride-on train, games geared just for little ones, face painting, concessions, balloons, and adorable T-shirts for sale.
Admission is $5 for ages 1-12 (under 1 and over 12 are free) and includes four game tickets (additional tickets are for sale at just $5 for 20).
The Cheverly Truck Touch is a fundraiser for the non-profit Cheverly Nursery Schools. The event will be held in the Cheverly United Methodist Church Parking Lot located at 2801 Cheverly Avenue in Cheverly, MD.
