So fun, it’s all a blur!
I should have posted about this one weeks ago when the first Polar Vortex rolled in and completely thwarted any expectations of yet another mild DC winter. Because Sport Bounce of Loudon is exactly the kind of place we parents seek out on insufferably cold days when the kids are tired of being stuck inside and ready to bounce off the walls. And let’s be honest: many of us grown-ups are, too.
At Sport Bounce, they actually can bounce off the walls — inflated ones, anyway. The indoor gym in Ashburn, Va, is, essentially, a really large room practically stuffed with moon bounces, lofty air-filled slides, and other inflated means for kids to burn energy. There’s also a small ride-on train, a hurricane simulator, and a separate smaller room with soft toys and hoola hoops for little ones. Needless to say, the kids dug it all.
My favorite part, however, was Jumpin’ Java, the cute little cafe at the back, where snacks and coffee drinks are for sale. Even better, tables are set up in the middle of all the action (for parties, which take place on weekends), so I could enjoy my cup o’ joe while keeping an eye on my kids. They even have magazines scattered around the tables. Yep, they know how to keep the whole crew happy.
Open Gym sessions are offered Monday through Friday, though times vary by day. Most are an hour and a half long, a perfect stretch to bounce off some energy — and work up an appetite. When the jump fest ended, we headed to nearby Mezza Grill for a delicious Mediterranean lunch.
Sport Bounce of Loudon is located at 44710 Cape Court, Suite #116 in Ashburn. Admission is $10/ages 2 and up, $6/8-23 months. Children must be 18 months to use any of the inflatables. Jumpin’ Java is open during weekday open bounce times before 2pm (November-August) and all school holidays.

They’ve got a sense of humor, to boot!
Weekends at Sport Bounce are reserved for parties. If you’re interested in hosting one there, visit the website for booking details.
Closed on weekends? Useless to 98% of us.
Keep it in your back pocket for a weekday holiday/day off from school!
Not closed on weekends… open for private parties. They do have after school open bounce times on Mondays and Thursdays – so fun! (www.sportbounce.com/opengym.php)
Where is it? and I want to go.
