Enter to Win Tickets to the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival

Want to find unique, handmade holiday gifts and enjoy a family day out?  The annual Sugarloaf Crafts Festival is just the place to do that.

The fair will be at the Dulles Expo Center December 7-9, showcasing works by more than 300 top artisans.  Pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, fashion, home and garden décor, furniture and home accessories, and photography will be on display — and for sale!

The best part is that the award-winning festival is a family affair.  Parents can shop, while children can enjoy an interactive puppet theater and watch live-demonstrations of iron forging, papermaking, stone sculpting, and other media by the master craftspeople themselves. Not to mention, gourmet goodies hand-made by specialty food vendors always leave everyone wanting more.

Tickets are $10/adults (free for children under 12), and are good all three days of the Festival. But individual tickets in advance for $8 or a Four-Pack for $28 here. You can also enter the giveaway to try to win them.

Giveaway: I have two pairs of tickets up for grabs, and you can enter for a chance to win them simply by leaving a comment below telling me your favorite activity during the holiday season. To be eligible, you must like KidFriendly DC on Facebook and follow on Twitter. Winners will be picked and notified by Saturday, December 1.  Good luck!

We like to drive our bikes by the Potomac river. Its so beautiful with the leaves and the weather is usually not so bad. My 5 years old absolutely loves the outdoors and its a great exercise (we play all kinds of games there as well)

We love ice skating as a family, especially outdoors when the rinks are all decorated for the holidays!

I have too many favorites this time of year! I love going into DC to see the building dressed up. I love making card for the troops for the Red Cross. I love wrapping presents while watching holiday movies. But best of all I love the down time with my family and too see magic of Christmas through my kids eyes.

  7. Oops, I forgot to tell you what my favorite holiday activity is! It’s a tie between the train exhibit at the US Botanic Gardens and seeing The Nutcracker with my daughter.

First winter with the baby! Looking forward to a visit to Santa.

  11. I love to do it all the way up – play Christmas carols while baking cookies and decorating the house. I encourage friends to stop over anytime. Magically, somehow, then everyone’s memory of the holidays is filled with magic, even if initially, they were dreading it.

I’d love to have the tickets! SO many to choose from, but one of my favorite Christmas activities is sitting with family, enjoying hot chocolate after a walk outside in the crisp, cold air to see lights or just have time to reflect.

  15. Anna

This will be our first Christmas in the US with our four kids, so every activity will be new and exciting and will hopefully become one to remember!

My favorite activity of the holiday season is visiting family and helping my mom cook enchiladas! My son will be helping us in a couple of years too 🙂 I also “Like” you on Facebook. Thanks so much for this opportunity!

During the holidays I like to relive my childhood by watching family friendly movies with my kids. I just bought Mary Poppins, I hope my kids like it as much as I did at their age!

Our favorite holiday activity is to make a point out of helping those less fortunate. We have fun clearing out all extra clothes, toys, household goods, and canned foods and take a family trip to Salvation army. We also like to volunteer at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter during the holidays. I think it’s important to help others out, but also for my family to be aware of just how lucky we are, and to share with others. happy holidays!
