Imagination Stage: New Show, Great Deal

Imagination Stage is getting ready to open the curtains on a new theater performance. “Perseus Bayou” opens on Wednesday, February 2, and will remain on the stage until March 13.  And thanks to LivingSocial’s latest Family Edition deal, you can get a deal on tickets to see it, as well as other some of their other upcoming shows.

Here’s the description of “Perseus Beyond” from the Imagination Stage website:  This award-winning musical sets the classic Greek myth of Perseus and his quest for the snake-headed Medusa in post-Civil War Louisiana. To save the bayou from the evil Polydectes, Percy must journey to the edge of the human world with the help of a conjure woman, Miss Athena, a spirit-cat, Panther Hermes and a tomboy named Andromeda. Percy’s coming-of-age is vividly told in this epic and magical theatrical work.   Imagination Stage is delighted to welcome back Mary Hall Surface, whose The Hundred Dresses and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice played here in prior seasons. Enjoyed by ages 6+

Tickets that are regularly $22 can be purchased for just $11 with the LivingSocial deal.  Or, you can opt for a special two-performance ticket package for $22 (a $44 value) to see any two shows on this season’s roster: “George and Martha: Tons of Fun” (April 9 to May 28), a musical about the friendship of two endearing story-book hippos; “The Day John Henry Came to School” (April 16 to May 29), a witty comedy that contrasts today’s tech-savvy students with folk hero John Henry; or “The Wind in the Willows” (June 22 to August 14), a musical retelling of the children’s classic.
