“Flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.” (Okay, maybe not, but one should never pass up a chance to quote Airplane!) And this time that chance is courtesy of a great event taking place this weekend. Become a Pilot Family Day & Aviation Display is tomorrow, 6/19, at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center (the Dulles wing of the Air & Space Museum). From 10am – 3pm, all kids of cool aircraft — vintage, recreational, military, homebuilt — will be on display outside for visitors to check out. Pilots will also be on hand to talk about navigating the skies. Inside, would-be pilots can test their skills on a flight simulator, enjoy story time, and participate in other flight-related activities. Admission is free, though parking at the Center is $15.
