If you’ve ever had any apprehension about dining out with your kids, you can put it all aside next week. From June 20 – 27, children will be the guests of honor at over 20 restaurants around the city taking part in Washington, DC Restaurant Week for Kids. And we’re not talking about the usual eateries many of us frequent with our kiddos. Most of the participating restaurants are places I save for date nights or dinner with girlfriends. Next week will be a chance to visit them without having to book a babysitter or leave my husband at home, as well as an opportunity to introduce the kids to a different kind of dining experience.
Beginning this Sunday, young foodies can savor fare from special children’s menus during lunch and early dinner seatings (5pm – 6:30pm). And just like regular Restaurant Week, there is a deal to be had—kids under 11 pay only their age, with the purchase of an entrée for the accompanying grown-up.
The promotion comes from Destination DC in an effort to encourage culinary awareness, healthy eating, and family bonding. So, get on Open Table and make some reservations. We’re already booked for a special preschool graduation lunch!
