Groupon – Get good seats to a DC United game for less. With this deal it’s just $16 for One Premium-Level Ticket. You can purchase up to two tickets, but gift up to nine to easily make it a family affair.
LivingSocial – Their Washington, DC Family Edition has a bunch of offers currently available. The featured deal is for a children’s birthday party, but their “nearby deals” include cooking camp, soccer camp, farm fun, and more.
Want to get taken out to the ball game for half-price or even for free? Eversave currently has a great offer for half-price tickets to see the Washington Nationals play the Seattle Mariners on June 23 or the Colorado Rockies on July 10. Even better, one lucky KFDC reader can win a family four-pack of tickets to one of the games.
The Save, as they dub their deals, is being offered in conjunction with this week’s “Mad About Dad” promo — deals that would make great Father’s Day gifts. The Nats tickets would be a big hit with baseball fans. They are being offered at four different price levels starting at $8 for $17 seats and obviously get more expensive as the seats get better.
To score a sure thing, the deal is available through the Nationals website. But if you want to take a swing at winning the family four-pack, here’s how to enter:
Do one or all of the following — each will count as a separate entry.
One of the daily deal sites I follow, Eversave, is throwing an Ice Cream Social just in time for summer! Today, Eversave is featuring a couple of ice cream focused deals that will run for four days.
In celebration of the Ice Cream Social, the team at Eversave surveyed more than 900 people to find out their “ice cream personalities.” The results: 34% consider themselves ‘chunky monkeys’ and prefer ice cream mixed with treats like chocolate chips, cookie dough, and fruit; 26% are ‘top-a-holics’ wanting all the syrup, sprinkles and whipped cream they can get; and 32% said they were ‘naked eaters’ – eating their ice cream without any toppings.
You can join in Eversave’s Ice Cream Social, to, by entering this giveaway. One lucky winner will win a Save at Cold Stone Creamery in Largo, Md, plus $5 in Save Rewards to use on an Eversave daily deal of their choice. Of course, you can go ahead and buy today’s Save, too. Use the promo code CHILL and get $1 off!
To enter the giveaway, do one or more of the following (and let me know you’ve done so):
– Sign up for Eversave
– “Like” Eversave on Facebook
– Follow Eversave on Twitter
– Add a comment below and let me know your favorite ice cream
The winners will be announced in a couple of days. Eversave will be running fun contests on Facebook and Twitter today so check in to get in the fun.
A couple of quick notes before I get to the giveaway…
– Congratulations to KFDC reader, Molly Pannell, who won yesterday’s giveaway of a party at Labyrinth Games & Puzzles!
– KidFriendly DC is officially one year old! I think I will treat myself to a cupcake and champagne tonight.
Now onto today’s giveaway. This one surely comes as no surprise considering my unabashed zeal for any deal that is remotely akin to family fun. It comes from the deal site, Eversave, which I first posted about a couple of months ago when they had a 50% off Save on admission to the Playseum. Since then, I’ve mentioned both here and on Facebook several of their offers that help enrich our lives, from savings on cupcakes to half off at Great Kids Village to discounts on kids’ craft supplies to an overnight getaway on the Chesapeake Bay.
Needless to say, if you win today’s giveaway of $50 in Save Rewards to use towards any Eversave offer, you won’t have any problem spending them. And, conveniently, this giveaway coincides with Facebook Fan Appreciation Week, so if you “like” Eversave on Facebook, you will also have opportunities to win even more Save Rewards and other great prizes, including an iPad, until February 28.
TO ENTER:
For a chance to win the $50 in Save Rewards from Eversave, do one or all of the following. Each will count as a separate entry. This contest only lasts for a day — the winner will be announced tomorrow morning — so get your entries in soon! (Note: In order to receive the Save Rewards, you must be a member of Eversave. You can go ahead and sign up here. It only takes a few seconds.)

I don’t know if it’s the holiday or what, but many local deal sites are sharing the family savings love. Check out these deals…there’s bound to be one you’ll fall for. Happy Valentine’s Day!
And here’s one for everybody, because who doesn’t love ice cream — particularly when it’s FREE? I just discovered this no-brainer of an offer from Homerun.com: Get a FREE soft-serve ice cream cone at ACKC. That’s right, FREE! Once you get your voucher, it is good through the end of March at two area locations — 14th Street NW and Alexandria. As far as I can tell, there’s no catch; it’s simply a terrific, delicious deal.
LivingSocial’s DC Family Edition has a new deal today: $13 for Two Tickets to the Capital Home & Garden Show (that’s 50% off). Seeing this deal prompted me to check out the event, and it’s apparently a family-friendly expo, with activities for kids, including an appearance by Clifford the Big Red Dog from PBS. Tickets for kids ages 6-12 are just $3, and it’s free for children 5 and under. More information about the show is available on the website.
I’m psyched about this offer from What’s the Deal, since it’s for one of our go-to restaurants for dining out with the kids. For $15 get $30 worth of BBQ and drinks at Old Glory in Georgetown. You might know this place best from your days of M Street bar-hopping, but if you go for lunch or on the early side of dinner, you’ll see it from a whole other (sober) perspective, one that’s more than suitable for a family meal. If this is your first time getting a deal on this site, feel free to use my referral link to sign up!
If you’re looking for a unique gift idea or a wonderful keepsake, check out Plum District’s “Everywhere” deal: $97 for a custom-made T-shirt blanket ($175 value). And, no, this isn’t a cheaper version of a Snuggie. It’s a specially designed quilt using your favorite T-shirts and other wearables. My husband has a blanket like this that his grandmother made for him, and it’s a something to cherish, made literally from the fabric of his childhood.
Finally, you can still get in on Eversave’s deal that I posted about on Facebook and Twitter last week: Get 55% off a weekend stay on the Chesapeake Bay. It’s just $145 for a night at Bob Pascal’s St. Michaels Harbour Inn, Marina and Spa, a resort that gets great reviews on Trip Advisor. If you book today, use the promo code VALENTINE at checkout and get an additional $4 off.
