Five Things: February 8, 2024

1. Do you know about Relume on Capitol Hill?  The shop in the Eastern Market area sells all kinds of vintage, handmade, and repurposed goods, from apparel to home decor to accessories to books — and more! They also host workshops and welcome guests to come in and craft — you pick a project and time.  Plan to bring the kids on a weekend, then you can also explore the fantastic Flea Market, grab lunch, and make a fun day of it on the Hill.

2. Calling all Indiana Jones wannabes: Registration recently opened for the Young Archaeologists’ Club, a FREE educational camp for elementary-aged students with both  in-person and virtual options.

3. The Avalon Theatre in Chevy Chase announced its Weekend Family Matinee lineup through early March. You can see both films and live performances, including one this weekend — The Great Zucchini and Abracadabra Alex!

4. There are some great deals right now on tickets for both current and upcoming shows:  Mindplay at Arena Stage; Romeo & Juliet coming to Synetic Theater tomorrow (their version is breathtaking!); Little Shop of Horrors coming to Ford’s Theatre next month; The Kite Runner coming to the Kennedy Center in June, and Back to the Future coming to the Kennedy Center this summer.

5. Magic 💫
