Enter for a Chance to Win Tickets to Junie B. Jones, The Musical at Adventure Theatre!

A beloved children’s book character is coming to the Adventure Theatre stage, as Junie B. Jones, The Musical opens this weekend and runs through March 30.  Even better, you have a chance to win a Family 4-Pack of tickets to see it!

It is Junie B.’s first day of first grade, and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend, Lucille, does not want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting. Featuring a tremendously loveable character and fun-filled songs, Junie B. Jones will capture your audience members’ hearts just as the books captivated an entire generation of students.

Tickets for Junie B. Jones, The Musical are $25 and can be purchased online.  You can also try to win them through the giveaway below.

Our favorite indoor D.C. activity is always one of the museums. I look forward to taking the kids to view the now-covered exhibits of Indigenous groups- I think it will inspire some interesting conversations.

For toddlers, my favorite indoor activity is either the Building Museum or the Kennedy Center. Both have acres of open carpeted space for little people just learning how to walk.
For the 5-8 year olds, the National Childrens Museum and the Lane are both great play options. Older than that, you just can’t beat the Smithsonians. And don’t forget about Udvar Hazy if you find yourself out by Dulles!

Having lunch at Union Market (so many food choices and amazing things to see, like knife sharpening), followed by a movie at Angelika pop-up and a sample of gelato right next door (Dolcezza, but it’s closed in winter), visiting the amazing A Litteri Italian store not far from Union Market, and finally, walking down to REI to see all of the tents and cool outdoor stuff. A lot of really great suggestions! I’ll add a couple new ones. We’ve enjoyed Get Air Trampoline Park in Alexandria. They have toddler time (46 inches and below only) on Sundays from 8am-10am. We also like the National Museum of the U.S. Army. They have a younger kid play area, older kid STEM area, arts & crafts, etc.
