Five Things: September 7, 2022

1. Get a more in depth look at some of the outdoor art on the National Mall! Starting tomorrow, September 8, free guided tours will be offered at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden.  Every Thursday – Sunday at 12pm, stroll among the modern and contemporary sculptures with an expert tour guide to learn more about the art.  (And there are several large, even quirky works that kids will dig seeing, too!)  Tours are one hour, and no reservations are required — just meet at the Pavilion Café.

2. This Saturday, September 10, your crew can Soar Together @ Air & Space!  The monthly series at the Udvar-Hazey Center, the Chantilly arm of the National Air & Space Museum, presents Family Days that include hands-on activities, opportunities to talk with experts, and more.  This weekend, explore how scientists are expanding our view of the Universe with the help of new space telescopes and probes, like the James Webb Space Telescope.  You can literally see how these tools provide insight into black holes, the earliest galaxies, asteroids, exoplanets, and more features of outer space.   Runs from 10am – 2pm, and admission is free (though parking is $15).

3.  Have you checked out CertifiKID lately?  You can find deals on some great local (and farther away) activities and entertainment, one of them my very favorite musical.

4. Eater DC’s list of the most anticipated restaurant openings this fall, including Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen coming to The Wharf.

5. Winners of the The Post’s 23rd annual Travel photo contest.
