Five Things for Today: May 25, 2022

There was a whole other set of Five Things planned for today — details on fun upcoming programs and links to help prep for the holiday weekend — but these feel more important to share right now.  The photo above is from the 2018 March for Our Lives rally following the school shooting in Parkland, FL. According to this LA Times article, there have been 118 school shootings in the U.S. since then.

1. Fundraisers to help the victims and families of the Uvalde school shooting.

2. Some organizations to check out: Moms Demand ActionEverytown for Gun Safety, Brady Campaign, March for Our Lives.

3. What are we doing?”   More from Chris Murphy today on what our country should be doing.  Another raw reaction.

4. America’s Hands are Full of Blood.

5. The most heartbreaking Twitter thread that we should all see.

These are great, and I appreciate you sharing the resources. But could you also share the original 5 ideas you had planned — the resources for fun this upcoming Memorial Day weekend, etc? Many of us want more than ever to cherish the time with our kids and — finally coming out of the covid pandemic and other related craziness — enjoy time together. Any resources or suggestions you can provide are so much appreciated.

Good point — and suggestion, Nicole. I’m going to post the Weekend Round-Up early – tomorrow – and will include it all there. 🙂
