1. Have you been to the Franciscan Monastery in Brookland? The gardens are open to visitors, and they’re beautiful, peaceful, and interesting to explore. With temps warming up today, it’s a good time to go. Open daily 9am – 5pm, and admission is free. For some kid play before or after, the Turkey Thicket playground is just a few minutes away.
2. Today at 4pm, join the Freer|Sackler Gallery virtually for Artful Movement. Kids are invited to flex, bend, and strike a pose! During this live online learning webinar, young yogis will combine breath, stillness, and movement exercises to recreate a work of art, explore the senses, and discover mind-body connections. The program is recommended for kids in Pre-K through 2nd, but it’s open to families, care providers, students, and teachers of all ages and abilities. Join via Zoom.
3. I just learned about and recommend checking out Black Moms Blog. You can follow on Instagram, too.
4. Halfway through the new Britney Spears documentary, and it’s very compelling. Has anyone else watched it?
5. Love this predictive text poetry game between Trevor Noah and Amanda Gorman. Try it! Here’s mine: Roses are you coming home tonight for dinner and we can pick them out tomorrow morning and then we’ll meet at our park. (This could become a regular game with new starting words!)
