Five Things for Today: October 29, 2020

Explore the history of voting in the U.S. at the American History Museum

1. It’s a great time to visit the National Museum of American History with the kids!  Exhibitions like American Democracy that includes a history of voting in the U.S. and Many Voices, One Nation that highlights how our voices shape our country, make an outing there is especially relevant now.  Of course, plan to tour the rest of the exhibits, too.  The museum is open Friday – Tuesday, 11am – 4pm, and free timed-entry passes are required.  (For more inside outings, check out the list of indoor places that are open now.  And find recommendations especially for little kids here.)

2. In case you missed them, there are a couple of new KFDC write-ups:  Read about of Crystalline at ARTECHOUSE and an ideal bike ride with kids.

3. Guidelines for trick-or-treating in the DMV area.

4. Kiwi Co, the monthly enrichment subscription box service, has a sale going on right now. Through November 2, get 50% off the first month of any subscription line with the code SPOOKY50 at checkout!

5. Tenacious D does the Time Warp with a bunch of special guests to Rock-y the vote. 🙌

PS: Be sure to make a plan to VOTE — and get the kids involved so they can experience democracy in action!
