1. Another lovely fall day, and another rec for enjoying it: Hike along the Potomac from Riverbend Park to Great Falls. It’s a fun two-mile walk (each way) in the woods that little trampers can tackle, plus the magnificent vistas of the gushing falls are a great reward before you turn around to hike back. You could also just explore the area around Riverbend and enjoy the nature and views there. Riverbend Park hours are 7am – dark, though the Visitor Center is closed right now. Admission is free.
2. The Phillips Collection reopens tomorrow, October 15! New safety guidelines will be in place along with new hours — Thursday – Sunday, 11am – 6pm. Timed tickets are required, and only six tickets are available every 15 minutes. Reserve them in advance here. And for more about the Dupont Circle art museum see this KFDC post and this one.
3. Have you checked out the Kennedy Center’s Small Works Project with Mo Willems? The series highlights the stories of people who effect change by helping in small ways — and it’s paired with an artwork by Willems. They are sharing a new story for 50 weekdays and will be up to 38 today. And if you have a Small Works Story to share, you can submit it here.
4. DC United fans, you can support the team from inside Audi Field and help fight childhood cancer through the Fan Cutout Program. For $50, have an image of your choice made into a fan cutout that will be placed in Audi Field sections 123 – 131 for the remainder of the 2020 season. Part of the proceeds goes to Children’s National to help #KickChildhoodCancer.
5. Haha… right?
