Singin’ in the Rain is the perfect show for the whole family to see this holiday season. Kids will love the slapstick humor, high-energy tap dancing, and live rain on stage. Grownups will swoon to the story of romance and 1920s Hollywood glamour along with classic songs like “Good Morning,” “Moses Supposes,” and of course, “Singin’ in the Rain.” Don’t miss this opportunity to give your kids a theatrical experience they’ll never forget. This holiday season, make sure it rains!
About the production
In the Heights Director/Choreographer Marcos Santana returns to Olney Theatre Center with another classic American musical! Comden and Green’s ingenious tale of Hollywood’s transition from the silent era is buoyed by the thrill of live singing and dancing to some of the greatest songs in the American canon. OTC’s biggest production of the year is certain to impress Broadway regulars and enchant kids with live rain on stage.
“A crowd pleasing revival…with triple threat stars.”
– The Washington Post
Singin’ in the Rain is now running at Olney Theatre Center through January 5, 2020. Tickets are $54-$99 and can be purchased online or through the Box Office (301.924.4485). (Look for discounts here.) You can also try winning a Family 4-Pack to the performance on December 31, 2019 at 2pm through the giveaway below!
One Warm Coat
When you go to see Singin’ in the Rain, bring a new or gently used coat to donate! For too many people in our community, rain is nothing to sing or dance about. They lack a seasonally appropriate warm coat to protect them from wind, rain and snow. In the spirit of the holiday season, Olney Theatre Center is partnering with One Warm Coat to organize a coat drive during the run of Singin’ In The Rain. All sizes of new or gently used warm coats will be collected and distributed by Interfaith Works to members of the community in need.

Would love to win! Singing in the rain is one of our family favorites! My favorite part of the Thanksgiving feast is spending time with family.
We move a lot so we don’t have an official thanksgiving tradition. Rather, we’re guests at different friends’ homes. I grew up in a very traditional household where we hosted Thanksgiving with lots of family {up to 30 sometimes} so seeing it through the eyes of different families and living the day in someone else’s home really empowers the meaning of friends and family. So, my favorite part…the love of friends and family!
Decorating the house with my kids.
Expressing gratitude

Making the traditional thanks giving stuffing that everyone hates, because the act of making it.. the kids gathered around mashing up the white bread while watching the parade..no crust is added .. but with thyme…lots of thyme so it resembles green playdoh..then raw onions..and eggs.
all opportunities to make it healthy or flavorful thwarted… mix it into a terrible mound and jam it in the bird. …
Then all sit around, choke it down and cry how it tastes just like how grandma made it and reminds us of all the past dinners and stories.
