Head to the Hill Center this Sunday for their Annual Family Day + Concert!

Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital is ringing in its 7th year, and you’re invited to celebrate with them at a special Family Day + Concert! On Sunday, September 30, head to the community center on Capitol Hill for afternoon full of fun for all ages.

At Hill Center, they like to celebrate history while looking towards the future, and the day’s festivities reflect that. There will be Civil War-era activities and figures, including Abraham Lincoln, a team of coppersmiths and blacksmiths, and horse-drawn wagon rides. Guests can also enjoy a magician, face-painting, balloon animals, live music, and more.

Entertainment especially for kids begins at 2:30pm when Turley the Magician, one of the DC’s most renowned family performers, dazzles with his incredible show. King Bullfrog will hit the stage at 4pm with high-energy, original folk and blues songs thoughtfully tailored to get children dancing and delight grownups.

The Gina Clowes Project follows at 5:15pm, with a bluegrass performance the whole family will enjoy. Folks can sprawl out on the lawn with food and snacks, do some dancing, and let kiddos run around.

You can enjoy it all from 2-6pm — with thanks to sponsors Quicksilver Productions, the CSX Mitigation Fund, and the Near Southeast Community Partner. Admission is free, and concessions will be available for purchase. For more information about Family Day and the Hill Center, visit the website.

This post is sponsored by Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital, however, I only promote programs, places, and events that I genuinely believe in and think will be of interest to KFDC readers.
