A Family Classic at Wolf Trap

The hills are about to come alive in Vienna–and not the one in Austria. On August 31, “The Sound of Music” will begin its 6-day run at Wolf Trap’s Filene Center. It’s the iconic musical’s golden anniversary; it was just over 50 years ago that Maria and the Vonn Trapps first thrilled audiences with classics like “My Favorite Things,” “Do Re Mi,” and “Sixteen Going on Seventeen.”

The lovely outdoor setting of the venue, overlooking trees and rolling hills of the park, sounds like the perfect place to see a show set among the peaks of Salzburg. Performances will take place nightly at 8pm, as well as at 2pm on September 4 & 5.  Tickets are still available for all shows.  If the whole family is going, you can get the special four-pack pricing—buy three tickets, get one free.
