Show Your Love for the DMV with Sneekis Tees (Giveaway!)

Show that DC spirit, baby!

Show that DC spirit, baby!

Are you a fan of DC and our local sports teams? Or maybe you really love living here as well as biking or brunch or beer? No matter what your penchant, you can show off your zeal for it along with DC spirit — proudly across your (or your kid’s) chest. And you can do so in cool, creative ways wearing Sneekis Tees.

I first mentioned Sneekis in the Holiday Gift Guide this past December after discovering them through Instagram. Their tees stood out from other DC-inspired wear with hip and clever designs, many that capture both local pride and personal interests at once. Plus, I found out after getting my own that they fit nicely and feel really comfortable.

Nats fan? You’ve got your pick of sweet T’s to show your support, from the Playoff Beard Tee sporting an outline of Jason Werth’s famous facial hair to artistic designs that feature a baseball sunset over the DC skyline to an amusing graphic of Teddy socking Washington in the face. Do you follow the Redskins, Wizards, or Capitals? There are football, basketball, and hockey themed shirts, too.

There are lots of fun plays on the DC flag — where there are stars, you’ll find baseballs, beer pints, bike wheels, coffee mugs, even eggs (over two lines of bacon, of course). You can also just keep it nice and simple with The District Shirt, Virginia Tank, or a tee with a nice skyline sunset. And little Washingtonians can show their local pride, too — Sneekis has youth and baby sizes, including onesies! (Thanks to my friend, Besa of MominDCity for letting her adorable babe model one for this post.)

Wondering who is behind it all? Sneekis was launched by brothers John and Chris Johnson. A graphic artist and architect, respectively, they got the idea to start their company simply because they wanted to create something they were looking for themselves: T-shirts that had to do with DC sports or the DMV that weren’t, as they put it, “cheesy or low quality” like most of what they’d seen. With their creative sensibilities, they set out to make high quality t-shirts that people would actually enjoy wearing. And if you ask me, they nailed it.

Sneekis tees are available for purchase on the website, and there is also a nice selection, including children’s shirts, on Etsy. Prices range from $25-28.
