Five Things for Today: September 21, 2020

Seen on a recent neighborhood walk

1. The DC Board of Elections is kicking off National Voter Registration Week — a nonpartisan civic observance of American democracy, highlighting the importance of registering and voting — with an event at The Wharf from 12-2pm today.  Volunteers and organizations from all over DC will come together in a single day, creating widespread awareness of opportunities to maximize and deploy residents to register and vote. Join them outside of The Anthem — there will be prizes and giveaways, too!

2. National Harbor has created a roundup of experiences throughout and around the property where parents can take their children to enhance home schooling or distance learning. The various locations and activities provide hands-on learning opportunities in math, science, history and art. Read more about National Harbor in pre COVID times here.

3. NPR’s 100 favorite children’s books.

4. Keeping cool during pandemic parenting.

5. Math Problems for the Fall
