Five Things for Today: September 9, 2020

1. Are you looking for after school enrichment for your kids?  Polite Piggies, which usually runs aftercare for some Capitol Hill elementary schools, is opening up their program to all area families, offering virtual and in-person after school specials classes as well as in-person after school play groups.  See what’s being offered and register here.  And for any questions, email [email protected].

2. A fun energy-burner for kids: ClimbZone, the colorful indoor climbing center in Laurel, MD, is open with safety and social distancing measures in place.  You must make online reservations — and check CertifiKid for a deal on admission.  Read more about ClimbZone in this KFDC post.

3. This evening, Step Afrika! commemorates the 281st Anniversary of the Stono Rebellion, the largest insurrection of enslaved Africans in North America, with the virtual premiere of Stono, a performance in their signature percussive dance style. It will be streamed on Facebook and YouTube at 8pm — register (for free) for it here.
